Europe installed 15 gigawatts of new wind power in 2022, according to the WindEurope link, a third higher than in 2021.
The new installations are deemed satisfactory given the problems in the market and the wider economy, while the new wind turbines are considered to contribute significantly to addressing the energy crisis that the continent is going through.
However, the association believes that further steps are needed by simplifying the licensing process and investing in the supply chain.
Of the 15 gigawatts, 90% were onshore wind farms, with Germany, Sweden and Finland leading the way.
