Global installed wind power is projected to increase by 71 gigawatts per year in the period 2019-2023 and by 76 gigawatts in the period 2024-2028, according to Wood Mackenzie estimates.

In a report, the company notes that in the second quarter of 2019, 11 gigawatts were installed internationally, 1.5% more than in the first quarter.

It also notes that the United States had a robust growth of 16% from one quarter to the next while things remained almost flat in Latin America by 1%.

Concerning Europe, the report states that licensing challenges and under-bidding in German and French competitions have an impact on growth.
